Biography of Principal Consultant 
Dr. Hans Bajaria 

CURRENT POSITION: Hans J. Bajaria is the president of Multiface, Inc. an engineering and management consulting firm since 1978.  His list of clients includes Allen-Bradley, Allied-Signal, DaimlerChrysler, Engelhard, Federal Mogul, Ford, General Motors, GTE, Borg-Warner, Johnson & Johnson, Kelsey-Hayes,  Parker Hannifin, Samsung, Steelcase, Thermodisc, TRW, 3M, and Gleason Works.

EXPERTISE: Dr. Bajaria's areas of specialization include quality, reliability, maintainability, statistical process control, statistical problem solving, design of experiments, total quality management, ISO 9000, and decision making integrating mechanical, electrical, electronic, chemical, and statistical disciplines.

FORMER EXPERIENCE: Prior to starting Multiface, Dr. Bajaria was a professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Lawrence Technological University. Southfield, Michigan.  In industry, he was a quality and reliability engineer with Rockwell International, a product design engineer for Ford Motor Company, and a design engineer with Jervis B. Webb Co.

CREDENTIALS: His BS in electrical and mechanical engineering are from Gujarat University in India. His MS in mechanical Engineering is from North Dakota State University and Ph.D. in engineering mechanics is from Michigan Technological University. In addition, he is certified by the ASQ as a CQA, a CQE, a CQMgr, and a CRE.  He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Michigan and California.  He has authored a book titled Statistical Problem Solving.

ASSOCIATIONS: Dr. Bajaria is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the Society of Reliability Engineers (SRE), the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD).  From 1980-82, he was Vice President of Professional Development for the ASQ.

AWARDS: He won the 1996 ASQ Midwest Conference Board Oakley Award for emphasis on quality as a strategy in training and in business.  He won the 1994 ASQ GRANT AWARD for quality leadership.  In 1982, the Engineering Society of Detroit presented him their Gold Award for his quality contributions to the physical science discipline.  In 1980, the Greater Detroit Section of the ASQ honored him as Man of the Year.  In 1976, Rockwell International recognized him as Engineer of the Year.

Dr. Bajaria has written a book on Statistical Problem Solving and has presented numerous papers for many professional organizations including AWS, SAE, SME, ASM, and ASME. He is a popular speaker at ASQ meetings throughout the United States.
